Mixing

Mixing is one of the core services offered by Hiili Music. The goal is to create a balanced and effective whole in which all elements support one another and the music sounds exactly as it should.

Great sound is naturally at the heart of mixing, but a successful result also depends on good collaboration. I listen carefully to the artist’s or band’s vision and make detailed revisions based on their feedback. In most cases, two rounds of revisions are enough to prepare a track for mastering.

How does the mixing process work?

The number of songs, the track count, and the recording approach all affect what type of work makes the most sense for a project. Once the necessary information has been gathered, the mixing fee is agreed upon in advance. Listening to rough mixes is often an excellent way to understand the artistic direction and goals of the material.

Sometimes an entire album is mixed at once, but it can also be effective to work one song at a time or in small groups of tracks, such as three songs per batch. This approach can help spread costs over a longer period. Recording may also still be ongoing while the first songs, such as an upcoming single, are already being mixed.

I am often involved at the stage when recordings and multitrack sessions are being prepared for mixing. I can also provide clear guidance on how to organize and prepare multitrack files to ensure a smooth and efficient mixing process.
