What I Typically Do During Pre-Production
I review the artist’s or band’s demos and evaluate factors such as song structure, arrangements, tempos, sounds, and recording approaches. Acting as an objective outside listener, I can often identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities that may be difficult to spot when working closely with your own material. I provide song-specific feedback and suggestions that can be tested and refined before the recording stage begins.
Together with the artist or band, I also help determine which parts of the project are best recorded independently and when a professional studio environment will provide genuine benefits. My extensive experience with a wide variety of recording situations helps identify common pitfalls and ensures that the recording process is planned as efficiently as possible.
